The International Press Academy (IPA), one of the most diverse associations of professional entertainment journalists, was founded in 1996 by Mirjana Van Blaricom. Our first Satellite Awards presentation was held in 1997. With a growing membership of working press representing both domestic and international markets, the IPA reaches millions globally via Print, Television, Radio, Cable, New Media and Internet. In 2011, Fedeora, the federation of European and Mediterranean film critics, joined with the IPA to extend the membership and cross-cultural reach of both organizations.
Services
Each year the International Press Academy (IPA) honors artistic excellence in the areas of Motion Pictures, Television, Radio, and New Media via the Satellite Awards. During the ceremony, the IPA presents Satellite Awards to the best of the entertainment industry in comprehensive categories for Film, Television, DVD and New Media, often choosing the winners that will be seen in other awards show in January and February.
The Mary Pickford Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to the Entertainment Industry reflects a lifetime of achievement, and is the IPA's most prestigious honor. The two words that most appear after the name Tilda Swinton is "ferocious talent." There cannot be a moviegoer who has not seen Tilda Swinton acting.
IPA defines "Auteur" as a filmmaker whose singular vision and unique artistic control over the elements of production give a personal and signature style to their films. British-born, Oxford educated Emerald Fennell is what you might describe as a triple threat. She cut her acting teeth appearing in close to a dozen television series including, "Call the Midwife, " and "Killing Eve, " for which she was both a writer and one of the executive producers. Most recently she starred as Camilla Parker Bowles in the highly acclaimed Netflix series "The Crown."
For questions, please contact the IPA at info@pressacademy.com or call our production office at (818) 989-1589. Our fax number is: (818) 787-3627. To be eligible for The Satellite Awards consideration, feature length films must be screened for the full active membership of the IPA, either by invitation to regular all-media screenings or at specially arranged screenings prior to the announced nominations consideration deadline. To be eligible for SATELLITE Awards consideration, the show/film/series must have aired within the year during January to December.
