Years ago when spandex was considered cool and guys were wearing more make-up than their girlfriends, most of the members of BIG DADDY DRIVE were friends and playing music together. Many years later, the same friends, a little older, a little wiser, have come together to make new music.

I have purchased instruments for my children for band and orchestra from McFadyen and have always had a positive experience. So, when I wanted to purchase a guitar for my daughter, McFadyen was definitely one of my top choices. After some price comparison, I purchased a Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar, in a beautiful teal color, an amp, and all of the necessary accessories.
The service, attention, and professionalism was beyond great. I worked with Chris who was spectacular. When I told them I was purchasing this item as a Christmas gift, they even helped by providing me boxes, so the items would remain secret. In addition, they offered a free lesson. I plan to buy an acoustic in a few months and will look no further than McFadyen.
I suggest them for all your instrument needs, the service and price will have you leaving very, very happy. I want to thank the incredible staff at McFadyen for a wonderful experience. Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and I plan to see you in 2020 for my next purchase.

Joe and his crew installed a brand new sound system at our church, Wilson Praise and Worship, and did an excellent job! New Yamaha TF5 and QSC line arrays. Our new system is amazing and we get compliments on how well it sounds every Sunday! Plus they didn't just install and leave us to ourselves. They helped train our crew on the new tech and have continued to help us throughout the months and years every time we call. Absolutely the best company around, would recommend without hesitation!

The store was very busy this morning as mothers were bringing kids in for music lessons and other needs, along with other customers coming into the store also. But with all that going on was promptly ask buy an associate if there was anything that he can help me with and assistanted me in buying some guitar strings that I needed this morning. Five star rating.

My first experience with McFadyen was about 3 weeks ago when I came with my son looking for a soft case for his new to be acoustic bass guitar. The inside of the store itself was a bit of a shock to me, very dingy and tired looking, covered with dust feeling. Choices and selections of items for sell were very sad, almost nothing to choose from! The young guy at the counter was very nice and offered to order the case for us.
The order was supposed to arrive in 5-7 days. 10 days went by and I did not hear anything so I called them. They had no idea when it will arrive! Just wait for it! In the meantime my son's acoustic bass arrived and it had small dent on the front and small scratch on the back. We waited for it for a month as their were on backorder. I drove to Raleigh Guitar Center and returned it with no problem.
Today I wanted to return the case that I bought at McFadyen but they want to charge me more than 50% of restocking fee! Cause they will have to ship it back. Total joke! No one informed me about their return policy before hand so it really should not be my problem what they will do with it! If I knew about it I would not proceed with my order! I know of 10-15 % restocking fee but never over 50% of the item value.
What a horrible way of doing business! I regret ever putting my foot inside that store. I will never EVER go there again. I would rather drive to Raleigh for an hour than go to them again. Valchers!

It's 1:45 pm and I showed up at the store, the sign on the door plainly states open 11-6 and closed from 2-3pm for lunch. Store was closed, so their hours are apparently whatever they choose them to be, when I called they were rude and unhelpful, avoid this place there are too many other options to deal with crappy service and unpredictable hours

Been in there a few times and have always been welcomed as I walk in, the guys there are not only knowledgable but great musicians as well. I had my heart on a set of mapex drums and was afraid that it would be gone if I didn't hurry. The guys held it for me and assisted me in the set up. I've returned countless times to just look or pick up heads or even a cymbal or two. I believe in this shop, they are a great local store and there dedication to their customers is second to none. The even know me by name now. Great people!

Walked in looking for a recorder. Asked the person at the register. He knew right away that they did not have any in stock. He asked for my name and number, wrote it into a little customer book and told me that more might come in tomorrow (Sat.), but for sure by Monday. He told me that they would give me a call when they arrived. Saturday came and went. Monday morning a person from McFadyen Music Company called me up to let me know that their recorders had arrived!
Talk about follow up and follow through! They even held it for me until I was able to pick it up. An added note: I overheard an associate speaking with a customer and I have to say that they really have five star service with a smile. Really, this is as good as it gets. Highly recommended. Did I mention that the recorder I purchased was reasonably priced and rivaled Target's price for a recorder? The quality and sound of the recorder was much better than the first one I purchased at Target.
